Gold Wedding Ring Commission
I was delighted to have been asked to make the rings for my friends’ upcoming wedding. After an initial chat about what they wanted, I made some examples in silver of various widths, shapes and finishes for them to try on for size before making the final rings in gold.
A tiny halo band in 18ct recycled eco-gold was chosen to complement a delicate vintage engagement ring, with the other being a somewhat more chunky ring in a traditional D-shape with a contemporary brushed finish.
Work in progress...
Working in gold is always slightly nerve-wracking, especially given the price it has rather alarmingly shot up to since the Brexit vote! However, all went well and I was really pleased with how they turned out. Off to the London Assay Office for hallmarking now.
