Custom Eco-Silver Gothic Initial Necklace

I was contacted by a customer asking if I could hand make a custom sterling silver Gothic initial necklace in the letter K. She had been struggling to find a K that didn’t look like an R in Gothic fonts and asked if I could create a bespoke design for her.

When I started looking at blackletter type fonts I realised that all the letter Ks did indeed look like Rs! I based the necklace design on a classic Gothic font, but reworked the K to my own design so it was clearly a K. The letter charm is 1.5cm high, so I had to use some pretty tiny sawblades (my favourite!) to cut and carve the letter from solid recycled silver sheet.

It turned out really well, and the customer was really happy with it.
